Shifra
Shifra (formerly known mAdapt) is a grassroots organisation which assists non-English speakers find sexual and reproductive health information and services in Australia. Shifra currently uses an application and online platform to provide these services, which are currently available in English and Arabic. The prototype for Shifra launched in late 2017. It currently has 800-900 users and is still growing.
GCG has been engaged with Shifra for 3 years. The engagements have delivered a range of deliverables, including organisational management advice and hiring and role definitions.
Most recently, GCG provided Shifra with strategic recommendations on their website content. GCG’s engagement aimed to help Shifra understand the prevalent health conditions and how they are changing in each of the language groups identified. We were able to break the problem down to identifying the local government areas Shifra should approach as well as identifying the health problems that refugees face in their home nations.
